Gouvia, Dassia and Kontokali are located on one of the prettiest stretches of the island's coastline, an area of little bays backed by hills carpeted in pine and olive trees, just a short hop from Corfu town with its noticeably Venetian influences.
Dassia is a cosmopolitan resort, with great shopping, tavernas, bars and restaurants that buzz day and night. There is a fantastic selection of water sports to be found all along the wooden jetties that stretch into the sea. But for those who just wish to relax, there is the long stretch of shingle beach for just lying back and soaking up the sun. The bars swing into action at night, but for those who want some serious non-stop partying, there are buses and taxis to neighbouring Ipsos.
Gouvia and Kontokali are a little more laid back, with beautiful views across the bay from their pretty pebble beaches, great for water sports and swimming in the crystal clear waters.
The lagoon they share is a busy yacht marina, which gives them a lively international feel. There is an excellent choice of shops, bars and welcoming restaurants, ranging from seafood grills to Chinese, and of course Greek.
